The Lucas Hallam books, by L. J. Washburn, have recently been republished with Wolfpack's Rough Edges Press. Lucas is a cowboy working as a riding extra and he has a PI agency set in Hollywood during the 1920's.

It's the 1920's, and Lucas Hallam is something of a legend: a Texas Ranger turned Pinkerton agent turned Hollywood P.I. So, when the occasion arises, Hallam saddles up and rides off with Tom Mix, William S. Hart, and several other famous movie cowboys from the silent era. Given Lucas Hallam's background, it’s not surprising that he’s easily able to find work as an extra on the sets of various Hollywood westerns. This aging cowboy gets a lot of work as a riding extra which often leads to his other job as a private detective.

As the summer of 2021 arrived so did lots of extra duties. The authors still graciously gave their time to answer my questions, but I had less time to do the interview. I still wanted to give you all a chance to catch up on the stories and processes of some fantastic writers.
